Etching

Since our stones feature in-laid stained glass, etching is a great way to personalize any of our Sisters Stepping Stones. The glass is sand-blasted in order to etch a message on the glass. The results of the sand-blasting is that text appears “frosty” and since it is essentially scratched into the glass, it is permanent. Dark glass colours reveal the highest contrast which makes the text easier to see. For very light coloured glass, paint can be rubbed over the etched surface to increase the contrast, however the paint is not permanent and may wear away over time. The cost of etching usually ranges from $10-$15 per piece, but we would be happy to quote on any etching requests by calling 1-866-789-3809.

Dimensions

The stepping stones we have are round, and approximately 12” diameter, 1.5” think and weigh approximately 13 pounds. We find that they are the perfect size for tucking into a little spot without any major effort.

Custom stones are featured on two sizes – round with a 16” diameter and weighing approximately 30 lbs, or arch-shaped measuring approximately 18" in length X 8" wide.

Glass Colours

The glass colours and textures have been tried and tested and are all predetermined for our In Stock Stones. The colours are spectacular but will vary slightly since every piece of glass is one of a kind! The more the sun shines, the more your Sister’s Stepping Stones sparkle…and the colours never wash or fade away. And yes, you can walk on them.

Concrete

Our concrete has a uniquely textured appearance and is available in three colors - natural grey, terra cotta, and charcoal. The coloring agent is added to the cement at the time of mixing -- it's not merely "painted" on the surface. Each design indicates which concrete color options are available. Sisters' Stepping Stones have been tested for freeze/thawing and strength and can safely be left out for the winter. You do not have to apply any kind of "sealer" to our stones.
